As admin, I’d point out that while a few scaly filthy bretheren no doubt might slobber over whale schlong, that ain’t me. To the second point: No.
Gooooooood times.
From Chris:
Our end of the year celebration will be Saturday (Sept. 12) starting at 3 PM at Davis Field.
We will have a grill going to so bring something to throw on it, and
something to share, like chips, salad, etc.
We’ll have our awards and team polos to give away as well.
Family is welcome, we’ll plan on getting a touch game going.
Remember, touch on Thursday at 7 PM AND Fairbanks tourney on Saturday
September 26.
See you at the pitch.
The 2009 season has ended for rugby in Alaska. The Spenard Green Dragons were victorious in the final, defeating the Bird Creek Barbarians 23-22 in a hotly contested match to become the Alaska state champions. The Barbos scored a try within the last two minutes of the game and threatened to win at what was literally the last minute, but the dragon defense held strong and as a result, the scaly beasts took back the Oosik.
Still want to play rugby? There’s touch rugby every Thursday night around 7 p.m. at Davis Field in Anchorage. Also, rumor has it that some Anchorage teams are putting together a trip to head up to Fairbanks in mid to late September. Stay tuned here for more details.
